Katya Mileva

​Dr Katya Mileva is Head of the Sport and Exercise Science Research Centre (SESRC), Associate Professor in Human Neurophysiology, and Member of the Management Boards of the Human Performance Centre and the Academy of sport at London South Bank University (LSBU). In addition, she is an Honorary Academic Research Fellow in Sport and Health Sciences at Exeter University, and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Authority, UK.
 
Author of more than 50 full research papers and presentations at 100+ international scientific conferences, Katya is an internationally recognised scientist for research on human interactions with environmental factors, mechanical interventions and nutritional strategies underpinning elite sport, physical activity and health. She has developed a wide range of neuro-mechanical and cardiovascular experimental and modelling methodologies to study the integrative behaviour of the human physiological systems: cardiovascular and metabolic responses to exercise; sensory-motor integration, motor control, peripheral and central muscle fatigue during exercise or in conditions with vibration, electromagnetic radiation, heat, microgravity, hypoxia, oxidative stress and dehydration.
