Silviu Pirvu

Picture
How to develop habitats that ensure health and opportunities for all, while harmonising the individual needs, aims, and behaviours? This is one of the questions motivating Silviu Pirvu to find ways that will enable humans to thrive in space and extreme environments.

Silviu Pirvu is Chief Technology Officer at various deep tech companies and a certified urban planner and designer with over 18 years combined experience in urbanism, architecture, digital innovation, AI, music and radio hosting. Since 2012, he has developed architectures and tools that enable complex spatial design and planning to become adaptive, intuitive, and enjoyable using Earth Observation and cognitive science. He has authored a variety of plans and methods, including the smart city plan around the world’s most powerful laser, space habitats, system architectures for 5-dimensional spatial planning and decision intelligence.

The integration of the Nature + Machine + Cognition trinity is considered by Silviu as the key for faster decision-making in order to act and thrive in dynamic environments, especially in megacities, space, and extreme conditions, where isolated mathematical modelling, data and intuition are insufficient. He calls this Symbiotic Intelligence and its applications range from one room to connected settlements on Earth and beyond, allowing them to exchange resources and heuristics when facing complex decisions.

Known for his dedication to preparing humans for life beyond Earth, he is a recurrent speaker at urban innovation, cognition, and space-related events. In his spare time, he enjoys experimenting with electronic music and neural networks.
