Mary Upritchard's strength lies inadministration, having worked in this area for over thirty years in the fields of banking, insurance and pharmaceuticals. In recent years she has also worked in the translation industry, mainly on translations and revisions of English for academic manuscripts prior to publication in scientific journals.
Mary has worked closely with Thais Russomano and her fellow professionals working in the field of space sciences, both in Universities and the private sector, since 2007 in an organisational and administrative capacity. She is the Administrative Director of InnovaSpace, and through this role has attended scientific events and meetings in South and North America, Europe and Asia in the areas of Space Life Science and Telemedicine. In this capacity she promotes and expands the operational and management activities of InnovaSpace.
Mary is responsible for the InnovaSpace Kids2Mars activities and initiatives, focused on opening up the education outreach area of Space and Space exploration to young people under the age 18 all over the world, and especially encouraging participation in those countries with no tradition in space activities. This has so far seen the successful inclusion of children from more than 35 countries, providing video questions regarding Mars exploration to analog astronauts in 2 Mars simulation missions at the Mars Desert Research Station in Utah and Dhofar desert in Oman.
