Mars is there waiting to be reached - Buzz Aldrin |
Kids2Mars is an InnovaSpace initiative introducing Space and the space sciences to young people around the world in a way that is exciting, new and motivating. The young are the future of space exploration so they should have access to the scientific progress of today, by enabling their participation.
Kids2Mars Mission 2 gives a little taste of a Mars analog mission to children from at least 30 nations - enabling them to pose questions about Mars and Mars exploration to the Austrian Space Forum AMADEE-18 crew and analog astronauts. |
The Austrian Space Forum, in partnership with the Sultanate of Oman, are conducting a complex Mars analog simulation in the Dhofar desert region, Oman.
A fully functional Mission Support Centre, based in Austria, will direct the analog astronauts and field crew in Oman, where their tasks will involve conducting experiments that will help prepare for future human Mars missions. In addition, the astronauts and crew will answer the questions posed by the Kids2Mars young people from all over the world. |
