Daciana Sferle is a lawyer specialising in space law and currently living in London, UK.
Her career began in 2007 in her home country of Romania as a court pleading lawyer (barrister), and in 2009 she established her own Law Office, specialising in private law, insolvency, and debt recovery. She is a member of the Bucharest Bar Association and European Center for Space Law.
Pursuing her passion for space, Daciana continued her studies by attending courses on space law, management and business in the space sector, courses organised by the European Space Agency, European Center for Space Law and International Space University. Her main area of interest is national space legislation.
In 2018 Daciana founded APECS (Association for Promoting Space Exploration and Research), a non-profit organisation that aims to provide a platform for space enthusiasts and professionals to connect and exchange ideas and experience. Furthermore, she continues to promote the space sector within Romania, and among the projects initiated by Daciana is a proposal for the creation of a Romanian Space Law, an initiative for which she is currently involved in the drafting of the law. More recently, following her move to London, Daciana has been engaged in consultations regarding Space Industry Act related Regulations. Since 2019, Daciana has been a member of the Romanian delegation at the UN COPUOS Legal Subcommittee and Scientific and Technical Subcommittee meetings.
